Happy Anniversary #6

Jesse and I have made it a tradition to get away each year on our anniversary. This year it was a toss-up between Sedona or San Diego. Literally, we couldn't decide, so we decided to draw out of a bag for a random choice. The plan was: Have Linda pull out a slip; which ever piece was pulled, we would do the other. I thought Jesse had put in one piece of paper with Sedona and San Diego on the other, but later I found out that he put Sedona on both pieces of paper... He's such a good guy! He knows how much I love San Diego, and he wanted me to be happy!

Sooooooo... On Saturday morning (March 19th) we headed for Imperial Beach (just south of San Diego)! We got there before noon, but the motel let us in early; good for us, so we could change our clothes and head for the beach, where we spent about 4 hours. We only returned to the motel for a little bit, before we returned to the beach to see a b*e*a*u*t*i*f*u*l sunset and walk out on the pier, watching the waves, and surfers.
Note: I had a tummy ache, so we spent the remainder of the evening at the motel.

The next morning (March 20) we went back to the beach, looking for sand dollars. We found a few broken ones, but that was about it. Then the best part of our trip... The happiest place on earth (NO, not Disney Land)... SEA WORLD!!! I love this place! We were a bit concerned with it being spring break, that it would be crowded, but it wasn't... The weather wasn't very cooperative (it was cold and windy). This, however, did not stop us! We did as much as we could between 10am and 6pm. First, we fed dolphins, then we took a behind-the-scenes tour, where we pet sharks and saw trainers with dolphins, and the rescue area with a seal and some sea lions. We rode on Shipwreck Rapids, TWICE! And, got very wet. We picked up star fish, and fed seals. We saw the sea lion show, and "BELIEVE," starring Shamu... OMGosh! I love those whales!!! We saw the dolphins, and went through the shark encounter, then to the arctic exhibit to see beluga whales, walruses, and polar bears. Unfortunately, our time ran out before we could do everything (guess we'll have to go back, right?!?). It was so fun!!!

We headed back home Monday morning (March 21st). Such a fun trip! The tour guide (Maggie) said Sea World was hiring... I would love to get a job there!
