"I wanna a hippopotamus for Christmas. Only a hippotamus will do... " We found a Christmas hippo at Michael's, and it was ON SALE! Of course I had to buy it!
For Christmas, Jesse and I decided to buy ourselves a reclining love seat. It's beautiful and SOOOO comfy!
Imagine my surprise Christmas morning, waking up to find 4 boxes of chocolate cherries (this is lethal), a basket of lotions and powder, and a pair of diamond earrings!
This year we went to my mom's house for Christmas. It was a nice time together, and just the way I like it... QUIET!
The biggest surprise was Elizabeth (my niece). She needed a "time out" from Idaho, and since Arizona is closer than Michigan (and nicer weather), we made sure she had a place to stay (here, my mom's place, or with Linda). We were hoping she would make it in time for Christmas dinner, but the ride was a bit longer than we had anticipated. Any way, she got into Avondale around 7:30, starving, so we had to take care of that, with left overs from g-ma's house. It's been so nice having her around.

The day after Christmas we all went to see "Alvin and the Chipmunks, the Squeakual." It was okay, but I like the first one better.
It's hard to believe that break is almost over. The time always flies by. I suppose it doesn't help that I've been pretty sick, and haven't been able to get much done. I went to the doctor again, today... Hopefully I'll feel better in the New Year.

My aunt sent me this, and it seemed appropriate, so I thought I'd share!
We went to the State Fair a couple of weeks ago. Jesse had never been, here in Arizona, and I hadn't been for a loooooong time, so off we went! We ate a lot of garbage, did a lot of walking, played some games, looked at animals, spent a LOT of money, and had a good time! Here are some random pictures...
One UNhappy llama!
Ferris wheel, from the sky way ride... That's Phoenix in the background.
Jesse and the ferris wheel.
Jesse won the polar bear and I won the monkey.
What would a blog post be, without an update on the kittens??? They're just so darn adorable!

September 30th was my mom's 75th birthday. Since she's a 50-mile one-way drive away, and I had a doctor's appointment that day, and parent conferences the next, we (Jesse and I, and Linda and Bill) decided to celebrate with her on Saturday - October 3rd (my official first day of fall break).
Linda and Bill provided lunch (KFC) and a yummy chocolate cake. We bought her a purple, digital camera. She's been telling us she needed one for a while now, so it was risky buying it, when her favorite past-time is shopping. Fortunately, it worked out! Here's a few pictures of the celebration.

Tucson
Jesse's sister, Faye, and her husband, Jon came down to Arizona to visit their son, Jonathan and his wife, Nicole, and their three children, Jessica, 'Becca, and Ryan, in Tucson. Since Tucson is like 10 hours closer to us than Linden, Utah, we decided we'd drive down to visit with them. The whole bunch of us went to San Xavier del Bac Mission, aka the "White Dove of the Desert." This is a 200+ year old church, just south of Tucson, and is beautiful! I've been there several times; Jesse had only been there once, and he wanted Faye to see it.
Afterwards, we drove further south to Tubac, Arizona, to see an even older mission, San Jose de Tumacacori.
While there, we had a great chance to visit and catch up. We even tried prickly pear candy!

I realize this is becoming a "kitten blog," but it takes such a short amount of time for them to go from looking like baby rats to being adorable, fuzzy, playful, busy little kittens. Honestly, they have been so fun to have around and play with on a daily basis. Any way... Here are some of the most recent photos...
